Yes, we do. WonderTree learners adhere to a schoolwide dress code found in each campus's community handbook. Each family will purchase a set that consists of one P.E. (sports uniform) and two daily uniforms for spring and autumn.
In addition, each family is asked to purchase a sheet set from WonderTree for nap time.
4. What are the class sizes?
In the FoundationYears I program (18 months to 3 years), there are a maximum of 10 learners per classroom. In the FoundationYears II program (3 years to 6 years), there are no more than 20 learners in each class.
5. How does WonderTree prepare my child for primary school?
At WonderTree, our early years programs focus on English, and our programs for older learners include Chinese classes, so your child will succeed in either Chinese or International primary schools. Not only that, but WonderTree learners are well-rounded, independent thinkers with highly developed social-emotional and academic skills, so they will be able to surmount any challenges that arise.
6. If my child doesn't even have basic English, how can they be in the immersion class?
Children at this age learn second (and even third) languages naturally, which is how they learned language from you. Your child will speak Chinese, the educator will answer in English, and soon your child will be speaking English without even noticing. In addition, the Chinese-English educator will always be there to help with initial adjustments.
7. How many educators are in each class at WonderTree?
At WonderTree, we guarantee that each class of younger learners has one foreign educator, one Chinese-English educator, one educator’s assistant, and one daily life educator. Our older learners have a foreign educator, a Chinese-English educator and either a daily life educator, an assistant educator, or an intern.
8. How can parents find out what children are doing and learning at school?
At WonderTree, educators and parents communicate regularly about the child's daily life, both at school and at home. Educators use the LittleLives app to send parents weekly updates about school news, class news, and links to captioned photos noting children engaging in various activities. Additional information will be shared on our official WeChat account.
Before school starts, we have a “Meet and Greet” for parents and educators, and throughout each term we will hold regular parent-educator conferences.
Finally, each semester, WonderTree invites parents to take part in school activities such as our ParentsCount workshops, FamilyFun events, CultureFocus program, and more.
9. How does WonderTree select foreign educators?
All our international educators are licensed and certified. We also offer them continuing professional development, a competitive package, and the opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree through our cooperative relationship with the SelfDesign Graduate Institute in the United States. WonderTree educators are drawn to us because of our I.N.S.P.I.R.E.D. approach and unique philosophy, and they stay with us because of our support.
